Laverne Susan Payne Tharle, 73, of Goshen, Virginia passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home.

She was born December 4, 1949 in Louisiana, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Payne and Lilly Mildred Orr Payne.

Laverne was a lifelong homemaker, former member of American Legion Post 182, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, and who was always willing to help anyone in need.

She is survived by her children: Alesia MacEwen and husband James of Goshen, Wayne Tharle and wife Lisa of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren: Eric, Jimmy, Robert, Stephanie, Wayne; step-grandson, Justin; great grandchildren: Elloeze, Maverick, Jay, Jaiden; brother, Joseph Payne; sisters; Barbara Conley, Bonnie Deemer; and her special dog, Little Man.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Tharle.

A private service will be conducted at a later date to be announced.
