Randol Craig “Mountain Man” Powell, 68, of Staunton, Virginia passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

He was born May 6, 1954 in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late Marvin Hunter Powell, Sr. and Florence Juanita Via Powell.

Randol was formerly employed as a surgical grinder operator for American Safety Razor.

He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed riding his motorcycle, antiquing, playing pool, throwing darts, and reading.

Randol is survived by his children: Justin Powell and significant other Carla McCray, Autumn Powell and significant other Trevor McManaway; granddaughter, Aspen Powell; sister, Robin Powell; and nephew, Dustin Powell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Marvin Powell, Jr., and Gary Powell; and a nephew, Brandon Powell.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Craigsville Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses in lieu of flowers.
