Reverend Terry Ellis Adkins, 60, of Craigsville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Shenandoah House in Fishersville, Virginia.
He was born April 9, 1961 in Rocky Mount, Virginia, the son of Mattie Louise Stone Adkins and the late Glen Ellis Adkins.
Terry served as Reverend for the Church of God of Prophecy in Craigsville, retired from the Augusta Correctional Center, and worked for Craigsville Funeral Home for over 10 years.
He was a member of the Craigsville Town Council and the WRE program, loved spending time with his family and his animals, hunting, and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Terry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Amanda Knight Adkins; children: Carmen Green and husband Andrew, Sierra Nuckoles and husband Trevor, TJ Adkins and wife Katie; grandchildren: Brailyn, Brody, McKenna, Noah; brothers: Phillip Adkins and wife Beth, Jerry Adkins and wife Connie; brother-in-law, Lewis Knight; sisters: Bonnie Hammock and husband Larry, Melissa Taylor and husband Jimmy; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special fur babies.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at Craigsville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Craigsville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Billy Curry officiating, with Bishop Jerry Schall assisting.
Pallbearers will be TJ Adkins, Trevor Nuckoles, Andrew Green, Kent Watts, Phillip Adkins, Richard Fox, and Harvey Sprouse.
Memorial contributions may be made to in lieu of flower to Church of God of Prophecy to be used for a memorial bench and garden in Terry’s honor.
