Celebrating 100 Years

A Century of Compassionate Care

Since 1924, Craigsville Funeral Home has provided compassionate service to our community. Founded by Jacob Earl Zimmerman and Cyrus Sensabaugh, our establishment began as a combined funeral home and general store. Through various owners and transformations over the past century, we’ve maintained our commitment to serving local families with dignity and respect. Today we continue to honor our heritage while embracing modern improvements. We proudly serve Craigsville, Goshen, Staunton, and Augusta County, carrying forward a century-long legacy of care.

Celebrating 100 Years

In 2024, Craigsville Funeral Home celebrated its 100-year anniversary with an open house event. The event showcased extensive renovations made to the historic building, allowing the community to explore its updated facilities while learning about its rich history in the Valley.

Current owner Garland Easter III, who purchased the funeral home in 2022 after working there for eight years, has led significant updates to the building, including solar panels and modernized spaces, while maintaining its warm, community-centered atmosphere. Easter, whose ties to the region run deep, continues to focus on traditional funeral services, which are requested by most local families.

The open house was an opportunity for visitors to honor the funeral home’s century-long legacy and see the improvements firsthand. Easter expressed his gratitude for the support of the Craigsville, Goshen, and Augusta County communities, emphasizing his dedication to serving families with care and tradition as the funeral home enters its next chapter.
